I wanted this book to create emotion when looking at the book and reading it. We respond to language and we respond to color in a very emotional way. The typography needed to show the pain and anger, be strong and dark, like it were taking over the pages. The song, “Howl by Florence and the Machine, is a song about bewitching love and betrayal of a romantic relationship. The song is fast in tempo, and vivid in poetry. In this song they speak of a relationship that started strong and beautiful with everything ahead of it, but ends up ripped to shreds and bloodied on the

floor due to jealously and hate. This book explains the story through feeling, language, and imagery. The color represents
the saturation of emotion one feels while listening to this song.
It’s strong, jealous, determined and raging. Throughout the book the letters fly across the night sky, lit up with gradients of color. The letters are a smoky Didot who do not flow in unison. The letters are flying and whizzing through the wind with velocity. Visions of the universe and night atmosphere complete the
background of each page.
